Update 7/22/22: We are still hanging in there. We believe being healthy is the best way to combat so many illnesses and we strive to keep our community fit.
Thank you for checking in on us and YOU make it all worth it.
In health and service,
All of us here at A FIT PLAN
Update 9/28/21: As you know our focus is on group fitness classes. This is what we love and it's the concept of our business model. The gym (equipment) was initially for our private use but members wanted to use it here and there, so we let them at no extra cost. Then, people that did not have a fitness class membership wanted to be able to use it, so we let them for a separate low monthly fee.
As of right now our time is spent between the classes and having the gym part open. This is very time consuming. In order to focus on our passion, the fitness classes, we have decided to do away with the gym (equipment) part of the business. With this being said, if you have a Gym only or a Gym Family membership we will be in touch with you to close out your membership. We are planning to have this done by the end of October.
As for equipment purchasing, some have already asked. There are pieces we are not parting with, and they will be labeled as NOT FOR SALE. The other pieces will be labeled with a price for pick up in October, not sooner. We will spend the holiday weekend pricing stuff out. If you are interested in a piece of equipment that is listed for sale please contact Patty 512-656-0270
CASH ONLY AND BRING STRONG PEEPS TO MOVE IT IN OCTOBER.
We have truly been blessed to offer the gym to such wonderful people and we hope to keep in touch as you all have become one of our tribe. It is our hope that each of you understand our reason and support us getting back to our passion of Classes Only.
In health and service,
Patty
Update 8/23/21: Keeping this very short since we are busy bees over here doing our thing. We wanting to left everyone know that we are improving with each day, week and month. We still have ups and downs but our community is strong and we could not be happier with the love and support everyone has provided us. There is still a long road ahead of us and all businesses, therefore, we must push forward and lift one another up. We are here for you as you have been for us.
Update 9/6/20: With the generosity of the Wimberley community and businesses, also some from surrounding areas, we are now good through the end of 2020. We are excited because this gives us more time to gain our membership back and/or add new memberships. Our goal as with any gym is to survive off of memberships, so please spread the word. We are forever thankful as this is our happy place and want it to succeed. Now, keep in mind we are in no way out of the woods but we do see a bit of a clearing. The following is a list of changes we have made since our plea in July.
Thank you for digging deep and supporting our fitness home. The instructors and staff think YOU ALL ARE OUR ROCKSTARS.
July 2020: Never ever EVER did we think this would happen. As a Wimberley small business we have been overwhelmingly affected by COVID-19. Here is some humbling honesty for you. We survive on memberships and we have always offered memberships without contracts. This is the right thing to do morally but it can bite you in the booty at times like this. Without paid memberships we cannot continue to run one of Wimberley's most loved fitness centers. Many have said they will return in the fall, winter or when COVID is over, but unfortunately at this time, this will be too late.
We have cut all expenses down the nitty gritty and have exhausted all financial aid trying to keep the business ALIVE and at this time we are only able to keep running through September. We are doing everything possible to avoid closing. Our instructors the "Backbones" of our operations are willing to volunteer their time and continue teaching the classes without pay to keep the business running. Their dedication is beyond belief to me. This just goes to show they are here for you, our community and our AFP family.
With encouragement from our instructors, friends and family, I am swallowing my pride and writing you this request with tears running down my face and can't believe I'm in this position to ask "plead" for your help. I have never done this before and it hurts my heart to ask as I know many are in the same boat if not worse. So, even if your aren't able to donate, we could sure use some encouraging words and prayers right now. For those that are choosing to stay home, we, everyone here at AFP, want to be here for you when your able to get back to class. Please help us make that happen.
Thank you for taking the time to read, forward, and/or your donation.
Humbled,
Patty DeVazier
A Fit Plan
- We have now added back in our AOA (active older adults) programs at an affordable to membership fee and these classes are going STRONG!
- Our events such as glow dance parties have been abundant. From birthdays (young and younger) to girls night out. These events bring out the kid in us all.
- We still have a fabulous group of instructors that greet you with a smile and are ever so motivating.
- We've added a FREE H.G.S.G (health goal support group) meeting once a week to keep many accountable to their goals. It's a great way to see that everyone can struggle but having a support group around you can help get you through it.
- We have added different types of classes to keep it fresh, including a sing-along workout. Who doesn't like to sing...right!
Thank you for checking in on us and YOU make it all worth it.

The following is a list of changes we have made since our plea in July.
- Closed our cycling studios and sold off our RealRyder Bikes
- Moved all equipment next to the classroom to save on insurance (goes by square footage)
- Implemented a gym use only membership for $24 a month (still no contracts)
- Added in a couple more classes (before COVID we had 32 a week) now we have 14, hoping to add more slowly.
- Instructors refused to except payment for their classes BUT because of donations we were able to start paying them again and even the back pay is completely caught up.
- Cleaning and office work was time consuming so we added back in an ADMIN person to help with both task.
- We paid back our $2240 PPL. We did not qualify for forgiveness since we got a $5000 emergency loan.
- We paid back our $17,400 EIDL. We did not officially have to start paying this back until one year but interest was already accruing. One month of interest was $151.00. Little do people know but those that took out the EIDL already are getting bills each month to payback. It's the interest bill up front. I sent $1400 to begin paying back thinking I would save on interest when the time comes and they took our $151 for interest. I called the SBA and they told me interest is first. I sent in the remaining balance because if I didn't the overall payback would have been over $64,000. I checked in to make sure all was paid off and and from the time the bid payment hit which was within 7 days, an additional $58.35 interest was already added. I paid this right away and have to wait for the account to update after Labor day to see if I owe any more. I feel sorry for any small business that still may have to close and have this heavy loan over them. With the remaining amount that was donated, we spread it out Sept-Dec to cover the bills that memberships are not covering. Keep in mind, All funds are paying BUSINESS EXPENSES ONLY. No draws are taken out by me.
